Murgh Makhani: A Creamy Delight Also making its mark is Murgh Makhani, ranked 43rd. Known globally as Butter Chicken, this dish features tender chicken pieces cooked in a creamy, tomato-based sauce.

The chicken is marinated in yogurt and spices, then grilled, and finally simmered in a sauce rich with butter, cream, and aromatic spices such as garam masala, cumin, and coriander. Murgh Makhani’s rich texture and comforting flavors have made it a beloved dish both in India and abroad, perfectly complementing naan or rice.

Tikka and Tandoori: Grilled to Perfection Not far behind, Chicken Tikka claims the 47th spot. This dish consists of marinated pieces of meat or vegetables grilled to perfection, infused with a blend of spices including garlic, ginger, cumin, and coriander.

Chicken Tikka, the most popular variant, is celebrated for its juicy, tender pieces that are bursting with flavor, typically served with mint chutney as both an appetizer and a main dish.

Closely following is Tandoori, ranked 48th, named after the traditional clay oven, the tandoor, in which it is cooked. The meat, marinated in yogurt and spices, achieves a unique smoky flavor and charred exterior while remaining succulent inside.

Tandoori chicken, recognized for its striking red appearance and robust flavor, is commonly enjoyed as a starter, accompanied by tangy red chutney.
